Better Everyday Women's Retreat

October 4-7, 2018 / Chico, CA

The weekend will be held in an intimate setting in which mind, body, and spirit will be nurtured and nourished.

Dr. Brooke and Sarah Fragoso will be covering several topics including:

  • Fatigue,
  • Hormones,
  • Mindset strategies to reduce stress and reclaim your joy,
  • As well as nutrition, fitness and everything else in between.

This retreat is going to go beyond the standard lecture format; we want you to get hands on and in the trenches with us, and our time together will not be about us standing up in front of you but instead Dr. Brooke and Sarah will be joining in the process of self discovery and healing right along with you, offering guidance and direction to help you along your journey, wherever you might be.

We want to build the weekend on the foundation of women coming together to support, learn, and grow with each other because we truly believe that we are better together.

You will have several opportunities to be in break out sessions with Sarah and Dr. Brooke to work on everything from perfecting your squat and correcting mobility issues to examining your unique hormone and health questions all with the emphasis on honing in on the importance of mindset and perspective so you can leave the weekend filled up with the resources and tools you need to feel better!

We will share meals, enjoy time in nature, and have opportunities for unique experiences together that will be all about play and joy!

Itinerary of events:

Thursday – October 4th:

6:00pm:  Meet and Greet. We will kick off the retreat at a private location with light appetizers and beverages. This will be an opportunity to get to know each other before we dive into the weekend!

Friday, October 5th: Retreat will Comence at JS Strength & Conditioning

7:00 – 8:00 am: Optional Gentle Healing Yoga with the amazing Lisa Weber

8:30 am – 9:00 am: Cook it Up Buttercup! We will kick off the day with an interactive cooking demo where together we will prep and prepare our group lunch! Get ready for laughs and spills, this is gonna get real!

9:00 – 9:30 am: Introductions and Welcome with Brooke, Sarah and Traci

9:30 – 10:30 am: A Framework for living your better life with more ease and less stress. We’ll discuss why you need a template to get started but must know how to adjust that for YOU. We’ll discuss our templates and tools to get you going and how you can implement these for your unique hormonal issues and the tools for cutting stress even when all else fails.

10:45 – 11:45 am: What’s It To You? Brooke, Sarah and Traci will take the group through a  discovery and discussion hour dedicated to our beliefs around Nutrition, Exercise, Self-Care, and Hormones

12:00 – 1:00 pm: Lunch (that we prepared ourselves together!)

1:00 – 1:30 pm: Why Your Warm Up Needs a Makeover – Let’s MOVE!

1:30 – 3:30 pm: Weight Lifting for All  If you are a Brand New Beginner or a Seasoned Veteran in the gym, we want to help you up your game and hone in on where you should start or be in the gym with your lifts.

  • Deadlift
  • Back Squat
  • Bench Press
  • Overhead Press

4:00 – 5:00pm Your Hormones are Talking to You!

Dr. brooke will circle back around from our morning hormone discussion to address YOUR personal questions for this hot topic!

Friday Night dinner on Your Own in Beautiful Chico
We will make several yummy local recommendations where you can venture out alone or join up with some of the other attendees if you wish.  This will be a good evening to break away and reflect on Day 1 before we dive back in together on Saturday.

Saturday, October 6th:

8:00am -9:00am: Optional Restorative Aerial Yoga with Brittan Scott of Freebird Aerial Yoga.  Get ready to take flight, but don’t worry – any skill level can take part in this beautiful restorative practice that is sure to make your spirit soar and your soul smile!

9:30am – 11:30pm: Soul Hike in Beautiful Upper Bidwell Park.  Sarah, Dr. Brooke, and Traci will lead you on a soul searching hike in the one of a kind Upper Bidwell Park.  It’s not all about nutrition and fitness, and here we will help you connect with who you really are, out in nature, with a group of like minded woman to support you.

12:00 – 1:00pm Catered Lunch back at JS Strength & Conditioning

1:00pm – 4:00pm Break Out Sessions – It’s your Time to Shine.  We will split into three groups where you will have a chance to spend small group time with each of us, getting your questions answered about your current labs or lab work questions in general, tuning into your intentions, and working out with Sarah, John and the JS Team!

– Dr. Brooke – Lab It Up – Bring your lab work questions to Dr. Brooke!

– Sarah, John & JS Staff – Program Modification, Mobility Help, and Workout With US!

– Traci – Navigating Goals with Authentic Intentions – Traci will take you through a group discussion designed to help you taking the steps towards living your most authentic life!

4:30pm – 5:30pm Q&A – It will be a big day and we want to give you all plenty of time to get any lingering questions about anything we have covered thus far unpacked and addressed.

7:00pm – Private Dinner for All Attendees – Relax, converse, nourish and be in community. We can’t wait to pamper you with a special evening just for our attendees!

 
Sunday, October 7th: Wrap Up at JS Strength & Conditioning

8:00am: Optional Gentle Healing Yoga with Lisa Weber

9:00am – 10:30pm: You’ll Never Guess who our Next Podcast Guest Will be – YOU – Live Podcast with our Attendees!!!

10:45 – 12:00pm – Where do We Go From Here?  We will have covered a lot, experienced breakthroughs together, and shared in laughter, tears, and community. Being on a retreat is always amazing, but how to do we keep these good vibes going?

12:00pm Light Brunch and Goodbyes.  Although we haven’t met all of you yet, holy guacamole we miss you already!!!

The entire weekend will be facilitated by the amazing Traci Corbett who has an incredible way of bringing it all together and will help us all have the most unique and tangible experience by guiding us to really immerse in the weekend in a loving and compassionate way.
